The New Sound

Following three astonishing albums with Black Midi, and almost non-stop worldwide tours for almost five years, Geordie Greep has somehow found time to record his first solo album “The New Sound”, an album that has allowed him scope to explore creative ideas like never before. It boasts a brand of high quality, allembracing alternative pop fun not heard in a very long time. Over thirty session musicians were involved in the making of the album, on two continents, in São Paulo and London.

“The New Sound” encompasses several stylistic influences, from progressive rock and jazz-rock to Brazilian music and Latin rock, while its satirical lyrics focus on themes of masculinity and desperation, taking the perspective of characters Greep wrote. The album received acclaim from music critics, with praise directed at Greep’s songwriting.
