“Leprosy” is Death’s landmark second studio album, released in 1988 by Combat Records in the USA and Under One Flag in the UK. Widely regarded as a groundbreaking death metal release, it captures Chuck Schuldiner and the band at a pivotal point, combining raw, uncompromising death metal with more developed songwriting and the distinctive production of Scott Burns. The album also features Rick Rozz on guitar and Bill Andrews on drums, making this a particularly significant line-up in Death’s history.

This particular pressing by the now-defunct label Under One Flag is still regarded as the best this album has ever sounded: great dynamics, unrelenting and heavy, yet never too overwhelming. “Leprosy” remains one of the defining albums of the genre, with iconic tracks including “Pull The Plug” and the title track.
