Danzig
Danzig • LP
Danzig’s debut album was the first release on producer Rick Rubin’s new label Def American Recordings. It was recorded at Atlantic Recording Studios and Chung King House Of Metal between September 1987 and April 1988. The album includes their biggest hit “Mother”. Glenn Danzig originally wrote the songs “Twist Of Cain” and “Possession” for his previous band, Samhain. James Hetfield of Metallica can be heard doing backing vocals on these two songs, but due to contractual reasons he could not be named in the album credits.
Danzig’s early output (most early Misfits records, the Samhain discography, and the first four Danzig albums) still remain out of print since the 80’s and 90’s due to various legal (and personal) issues. The original vinyl records are very hard to find, and priceless. However, recently there have been some very good bootlegs made of these original releases. We came across a batch of these and handpicked the best looking and best sounding copies!
We have the following variations for sale:
- Blue vinyl, Def American labels (SOLD OUT)
- Pink vinyl, London Records labels (SOLD OUT)
All in great looking high gloss sleeves. They sound great, very close to the original!
