Nihilist are a well-known treasure trove for any Entombed fan, being essentially an early incarnation of the death metal giant. When creative differences with bassist Johnny Hedlund forced the band to split, they reformed as Entombed, and Hedlund went on to form Unleashed. This, and the impact they made with their small clutch of demos on the international stage, makes Nihilist pretty much the creation myth of Swedish death metal.

This CD compiles all the demo’s they recorded as Nihilist, plus the very first Entombed demo tape that got them signed to Earache Records. The invention of the Swedish buzzsaw guitar sound is documented well here. Remastered from the original tapes, and includes an extensive booklet with the back story. Essential death metal material!
