Black Metal

“Black Metal” is Venom’s second studio album, released in 1982 through Neat Records during the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. The album is widely regarded as a major influence on the speed metal, thrash metal, death metal, and black metal scenes that emerged in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. Its title even gave the black metal subgenre its name, although the music itself was an early form of extreme metal that still retained strong roots in traditional heavy metal. The albums’ imagery also was square one for the early Norwegian black metal scene.
