Obscure bootleg with Black Flag live at the Starship Club in Milwaukee in 1981 with Dez Cadena on vocals. Amazing artwork and a fantastic show!

Cadena joined Black Flag in 1980, replacing singer Ron Reyes. During the first year of touring with the band, his hoarse voice became a recognizable and often imitated style of singing in hardcore punk. Eventually, and due in part to straining his voice, Cadena decided he wanted to play guitar. Henry Rollins joined as vocalist, and for a period, Cadena played rhythm guitar alongside founder Greg Ginn, including on the seminal 1981 album "Damaged".

Extremely rare LP in great shape, only here at Gram!

Black Flag with Henry Rollins on vocals live in London in 1984. Ultra rare bootleg with top notch artwork and a great performance!

In 1983 Black Flag was embroiled in a legal dispute with MCA over distribution of the album "Damaged". Until the matter was sorted out, the band were prevented by a court injunction from using the name "Black Flag" on any recordings. They released "Everything Went Black", a compilation of unreleased earlier recordings, credited to the individual musicians. When the court matter was solved, Black Flag was freed legally to release albums, and went full steam ahead. The band recruited bassist Kira Roessler to replace Chuck Dukowski, and began its most prolific period. 1984 saw Black Flag at their most ambitious. This year they would release three full-length albums, and toured nearly constantly, with Rollins noting 178 performances for the year.

This item was released around 2007. We have one copy for sale and it's in perfect shape. Impossible to find but we got one!

This artifact belongs in a museum. “Everything Went Black" is a compilation double LP by Black Flag, released in 1982 through SST. It comprises early songs recorded before Henry Rollins became the band's singer in 1981, with Keith Morris, Ron Reyes and Dez Cadena on vocals. Side D is a brilliant 20-minute collage of Black Flag radio commercials.

This is the rare, original censored release! Due to their lawsuit with MCA Records they were prohibited from using the Black Flag name and logo. Instead, every instance of the bandname on the release is blocked out (also in the liner notes), and only the names of the group members are listed on the front. The bars logo is also censored. The sleeve is worn due to age and heavy use but it makes everything look even more hardcore. Check the photos! The vinyl is in excellent shape.

And that's not all, this listing also includes an original copy of BAM (a magazine about the Los Angeles music scene) from 1983 with Black Flag on the cover and a big interview discussing the lawsuit and more.

As an extra bonus there's also a xeroxed Raymond Pettibon A4 poster included. Without a doubt one of the greatest Black Flag listings ever.
