Rise

Bad Brains • CD

15

“Rise” is perhaps Bad Brains’ most underrated album. It was their fifth studio album but the first (and only) without vocalist HR, and the first one on a major label. Israel Joseph I replaces HR, and Cro-Mags drummer Mackie Jayson, who was a session musician on the band’s previous album “Quickness”, replaces drummer Earl Hudson. The album also proved the band’s creativity extended beyond their usual hardcore punk and reggae, into the more mainstream funk metal genre.

This is the original CD release from 1993 on Epic Records, as good as new.
