Led Zeppelin II ‎

Led Zeppelin • LP

25

The second Led Zeppelin studio album was originally released in 1969 by Atlantic Records. This is the Boek En Plaat edition with an alternate backside, which was only available in 1970 to members of the book and record subscription club Boek En Plaat.

The album exhibited the band’s evolving musical style of blues-derived material and their guitar riff-based sound. It has been described as the band’s heaviest album. Six of the nine songs were written by the band, while the other three were reinterpretations of Chicago blues songs by Willie Dixon and Howlin’ Wolf. The album spawned the “Whole Lotta Love” single, one of Led Zeppelin’s most famous songs. Music critics have regularly cited the album as one of the greatest and most influential of all time.

This is the original Dutch pressing in the Boek En Plaat series from 1970 with a completely different backside to all other versions. Considering its age the sleeve is in excellent condition. There is a name written on the back of the sleeve (“Tinus de Mooij”, who was the owner of recordstore De Waterput in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands), check out the photos. The vinyl is used but plays good. Great item!
