An amazing hard bop session, recorded in 1956 at Birdland and stars Art Blakey, “Philly” Joe Jones, Charlie Persip and Elvin Jones on drums, with Sylvester Kyner, Ron Carter, Tommy Flanagan and Charles Greenlee on the other instruments. Originally released on vinyl in 1960 as a Gretsch drums promotion album, this is the 1969 French repress by Disques Vogue. Has a nice vintage sticker on the front. Great stuff, lots of drum solos!
