Burial

Septic Death • 7"

Septic Death was a hardcore punk band formed by Brian Schroeder a.k.a. Pushead, the graphic design artist best known for his work for Metallica and the Misfits. Pushead was Septic Death’s singer and designed the band’s album covers. The “Burial” 7 inch marks the first release on Pushead’s own label Pusmort. It was primarily a Japanese release with only about 300 copies being brought in to the US and sold only through the Pusmort mailorder back in the day. Metallica’s James Hetfield does backing vocals on “Insanity” and the SSD / Minor Threat medley “Glue / Out Of Step”.

This is not the original release from 1987, but a reissue (most likely unofficial) from around 2005. It includes a double-sided folded cover, a double-sided insert and a sticker. The 7 inch labels are hand stamped and numbered #666 out of 1000 on the sleeve (not sure if it’s actually #666 or if they are all numbered #666). Everything looks amazing and features the Pushead artwork in all its gruesome glory.
